Meta has partnered with HerHustle to launch ‘SheMeansBusiness’, a program designed to provide women entrepreneurs with the digital skills and knowledge they need to build and grow their businesses online.

The program targets to train over 3,000 women-owned businesses in Kenya. This is after Meta’s Global State of Small Business Report noted that the COVID-19 pandemic had an adverse effect on women-owned businesses in the nation.

The program will be executed by HerHustle which is an organization that facilitates digital business growth for young women entrepreneurs. The training will be done via live webinars, infographics, and short videos. They will cover topics like financial goals, financial services, financial health, digital technology, and how to manage a business during a crisis.

“At Meta, we recognize that unlocking women’s potential will create a more resilient, inclusive, and equal society. We have introduced the SheMeansBusiness program because digital literacy is a major enabler for business growth and a critical tool for women entrepreneurs in these challenging times. That is why we are determined to help more women access the tools they need to turn their dreams into success stories,” said Mercy Ndegwa, Meta’s Director of Public Policy in East Africa.

Strong efforts by Meta in empowering women entrepreneurs have been appreciated by women business leaders for being beneficial in their business growth. SheMeansBusiness has for over the last five years grown into a global platform for women entrepreneurs. It has seen over 40,000 women from South Africa, Senegal, and Nigeria being trained.
