Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua expressed the government’s commitment to ensuring the success of the Kenya-United Kingdom partnership during a meeting with the new UK High Commissioner, Neil Wigan. Emphasizing the historical ties between the nations, Gachagua highlighted areas of cooperation under the 2020-2025 Partnership, focusing on mutual prosperity, security, sustainable development, climate change, and people-to-people interaction.

 

The Deputy President underscored the strong collaboration in security, intelligence, and trade, seeking increased markets for Kenyan products in the UK. Wigan acknowledged the robust relations and expressed a commitment to strengthening ties, particularly in technology, innovation, climate change, and renewable energy. Gachagua assured efforts to address hurdles for British investors and streamline the business environment for increased foreign investment.
