The 2024 IASP (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation) international congress will be held in Kenya.

This was made at the Luxembourg IASP 2023 global conference.

The primary topic of discussion at this year’s conference in Luxembourg was the relationship between megatrends and the significant role that scientific parks play in fostering innovation and economic growth.

Over 300 scientific parks and innovation hubs from around the world sent representatives to the meeting.

In order to officially transfer hosting duties for the eagerly awaited 2024 global conference, Kenya’s delegation was led by Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy Eliud Owalo.

“Winning the bid to host the 2024 World Conference is not just a momentous occasion for us; it is a testament to the progress, innovation, and unending commitment to the advancement of science, technology, and innovation in Kenya,” CS Owalo stated.

“Our nation’s commitment to science and technology is not only evident in the ambitious projects like Konza Technopolis but also in the hearts and minds of our people. We have a thriving ecosystem that encourages entrepreneurship, fosters research, and embraces diversity.”

John Paul Okwiri, CEO of Konza, was present for the handover ceremony and expressed his gratitude for the chance to organise such a prestigious event in Kenya’s budding Silicon Valley.

The 41st IASP World Conference, with the theme “Demographics, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Define the Frontiers of Future Economies,” would be held in Kenya and Konza Technopolis in 2024, he expressed excitement.

East Africa’s economic, commercial, financial, and logistical hub is Kenya, which also boasts one of the continent’s fastest-growing market economies.

Konza Technopolis is home to the first-rate international infrastructure, and work on the convention centre is now underway.

Notably, Konza City is proud to host a Tier III Data Centre, an IT fortress that will guarantee the highest level of security for all data and information in support of the country’s progress into the digital sphere.
