Seth Godin’s Meaning of ‘Sawa Bana’ Leaves Kenyan Netizens Amused

Kenyan netizens have been amused by a video that has now gone viral from one of America’s best-selling author, Seth Godin.

In a 26-second video clip, a visible Godin speaking at a conference telling his audience that “is you visit Kenya, one of the phrases you might hear us ‘sawa bana’.”

The renowned author goes ahead to expound that the phrase means “sawa bana means ‘I see you. It means I know you are here, I know who you are, I respect you, I am willing to engage with you’.”

In a show of inspiration, Godin asks his audience whether there is “anything more our customers want more than sawa bana? To be seen, to be known, to be people?”

The video has become a sensation of internet users who wondered who lied to the prolific scribe who has over 17 books under his name.
