Ruto Scheduled to Attend Anniversary Celebration of the Hustler Fund

On Thursday, November 30, 2023, President William Ruto is set to attend the Nairobi anniversary event of the Hustler Fund, launched by his government on November 30, 2022. The fund aims to empower Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing credit to previously excluded individuals.

Administered by Co-operative and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui, the fund has enrolled 21.5 million Kenyans, with Ksh.39.6 billion borrowed and Ksh.29 billion repaid by nearly 19 million individuals. Notably, 8 million Kenyans are repeat customers, with 5 million borrowing more than five times, and 1,000 people borrowing more than 100 times, while Kshs.2 billion has been saved.
