The Equalisation Fund Appropriation Bill, 2023 and the County Allocation Revenue Bill, 2023 have both been signed into law by President William Ruto.

The 47 devolved units will be able to access cash in the new fiscal year that starts tomorrow owing to the two bills.

According to the County Allocation Revenue Act, each county is given Ksh 385.4 billion in shared income.

With Ksh 20.07 billion, Nairobi County Government will receive the largest allocation.

According to the Equalisation Fund Act, marginalised sections of Kenya will get Ksh 10.3 billion for basic facilities like electricity, water, and roads.
