Glovo, a Spanish delivery firm, has partnered up with small companies to provide its users with access to affordable meals.

Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) can sign up and begin using the platform for orders through Kibanda Bubble.

“As Glovo we are aiming to be a catalyst for SMEs around the country through these partnerships with Kibanda owners as we bridge the gap where affordability meets convenience,” the firm said.

“Most owners have noted since joining the App, it has been good for business with sales going up and getting clients that they normally would not get if they fully depended on walk-in clients,” it added.

In the last few years, online food delivery services have expanded, giving customers access to a wide range of cuisines from their homes or offices.

The mentioned platforms were formerly exclusive to well-known fast-food chains, neighborhood eateries, cafes, and large hotels.

However, several smaller eateries have using Covid-19 to help them grow their customer base online.

“As we monitor the growth of Kibanda business, orders in the Kibanda bubble have increased by 435%, meaning we have managed to deliver x5 more local meals through our Kibanda bubble in only 3 months,” it indicated.

Beef stew, chapati, ugali, Ndengu, bean stew, and matumbo—all Nairobi-specific dishes—are the most popular dishes on the Kibanda bubble.

Owners are provided with an onboarding experience after signing the Glovo partnership agreement, during which they are instructed on how to handle orders, how to contact partner support with any inquiries, and given specific insights to help them make the most of the app.
