Kenya Re Unveils Re-Insurance Training Academy

Kenya Re’s Training Academy will provide re-insurance product training to businesses and individuals.

The institution will provide free instructor-led training with an emphasis on reinsurance and direct insurance products.

“Continuous training is essential for the sustainable growth and development of players across the industry,” the Company’s Managing Director Hillary Maina said.

“The Academy is a key initiative in bridging some of the skills gap in the sector,” Maina added.

According to the re-insurer, the country has experienced an increase in a younger workforce with insufficient expertise and skills in the re-insurance realm.

Part of the training mandate is to fill knowledge gaps in cyber security, climate change, data analytics, and legal and regulatory compliance.
