Now, Safaricom customers can use 5G bundles to pay for goods and services.

A new payment system introduced by the provider will allow post-pay and prepaid customers to use the service with at least 5GB of bundles.

Users will need to dial *544*34# through their Safaricom lines in order to pay the entered amount using paybills or till numbers.

However, a cross-check by one local daily discovered that if one does not have the no-expiry data limit barrier of 5 gigabytes of Safaricom bundles, the service does not permit one to advance beyond the calling code.

“You are not eligible for this service,“ read a feedback message from Safaricom.

500 Shillings is equal to 7,692.21MBs (7.7GB) in the new payment mechanism, whereas 2,000 Shillings is equal to 30,769.23MBs (30.8GB).

Safaricom has recently launched a charm offensive to maintain a firm grasp on its clientele and entice new clients to use its services.

The telco recently introduced a new offering that allows customers to purchase handsets as well as pay their bills and Okoa Jahazi using Bonga Points.
