BrighterMonday Embraces Tech Improvements to Ease Recruitment Process

HR practitioners and recruiters now have an easier time sourcing the best fit for their vacant roles.

BrighterMonday, Kenya’s top job matching platform, has launched a new feature known as “Relevance Ranking” that ranks applicants in accordance with how well they match the job description using an internal matching score.

This allows the hiring party to view the most qualified candidates immediately at the top of the list.

This means less time is spent reviewing candidates who have applied, as the most relevant ones are shown at the top in rank order.

Additionally, the platform now offers a tool called “Recommended Candidates” that recommends the 10 best prospects who fit the job description posted on the site, and the recruiter can invite those candidates to apply.

This is carried out as soon as a job listing is published, according to Chris Otundo, CEO of BrighterMonday.

This gives the recruiter quicker access to a pool of qualified candidates and the added benefit of leveraging BrighterMonday’s database of highly qualified candidates outside of those who have already seen and applied for the job.

The recommendation feature makes use of the extensive database of job seekers maintained by BrighterMonday to handpick the top ten individuals who are most qualified for the position.

After a job posting goes up, the algorithm searches the database and compiles a list of the most qualified and eligible applicants.

Inviting these applicants to apply for the position would make it simpler for employers to find the best candidates and will hasten the hiring process.

“With these new features, employers can focus on finding the best-fit candidates for their job openings in a faster, more efficient, and more accurate manner,” said Chris.

In an effort to close the African talent gap, BrighterMonday launched its expanded mandate as a member of the African Talent Company last year.

In addition to its digital recruitment solution, this resulted in the company’s operations being expanded to include services in outsourcing, offline recruitment, and impact project partnerships.

Last year, BrighterMonday partnered with GIZ to train over 4,000 youth in Western Kenya in the agri-food sector as part of the Vijana na Kilimo initiative. This was one of the outcomes of its impact project.

Additionally, last month, BrighterMonday and USAID began collaborating to empower and train over 600 MSMEs in e-commerce trade techniques.

“BrighterMonday Kenya came into this project as part of the E-Trade Alliance, an alliance that includes the likes of Google, DHL, Mastercard among others, and whose mandate is to increase the number of MSMEs engaged in international E-commerce in developing countries,” the BrighterMonday CEO said.

The country’s recruitment practices are changing owing to the tech-driven job matching organization, and many businesses are taking advantage of the market solutions it provides.

According to data provided by the BrighterMonday team, its online platform is used by over 40,000 companies and more than 1,000 talents each month in a variety of professions.

The company, which is a member of The African Talent Company, is currently Kenya’s top recruiting portal with a candidate audience of over 800,000.
