KPLC to Shut Down Token Prepaid System for Hours

Kenya Power announced that its token prepaid vending systems will be shut down for repair.

According to a letter sent on Saturday, the scheduled repair will prevent customers from purchasing tokens using their prepaid Paybill number or Airtel Money.

The maintenance will take place from 9:50 p.m. on September 9 until 5:00 a.m. on September 10.

“Our prepaid vending system will be temporarily unavailable due to essential maintenance from Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at 11:50 PM to Sunday, September 10th, 2023, at 5:00 AM,” reads the notice.

“During this time, customers will not be able to purchase electricity tokens via prepaid Paybill number 888880 or Airtel Money.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers.”
