Glovo, a provider of courier services, has partnered with the Nairobi County government to train courier personnel on safety standards.

150 couriers will be trained during the exercise, dubbed “the Catalyst Project,” in Nairobi.

50 of the individuals were selected from Glovo, and the rest of the individuals are drawn from the Nairobi City Council.

“Through this transformative initiative, we aim to empower couriers with the knowledge and expertise needed to excel in their roles while prioritizing road safety,” said Caroline Mutuku, Glovo Kenya country manager.

“We are grateful for the strong support from the Nairobi Government, which shares in our vision to create a thriving ecosystem for couriers in the city and has been instrumental in making this project a reality,” she added.

Additionally, the partnership will provide safety equipment to courier staff.

“This training program is not just about equipping them to carry passengers and packages, it is about fostering a culture of empowerment, professionalism, and community engagement,” said Molly Achieng, Deputy Director, Donor Coordination, and Stakeholder Engagement.
