Cooper Motor Corporation (CMC) Motors has lost the Renault truck dealership to Caetano Kenya.

Caetano’s Managing Director says the company has been appointed as the dealer for Renault trucks by the French automaker after CMC’s contract expired, with effect from November 2022.

This is the latest warrant loss for CMC, having previously lost Jaguar Land Rover to Inchcape, and Suzuki cars franchise in 2018 to Toyota Kenya.

For Caetano Kenya, the takeover of the Renault trucks business adds to its contracts for Hyundai, Renault, and KIA.

Data from the Kenya Motor Industry Association shows that CMC sold a total of 21 Renault trucks in the year ended December 2021, while Caetano’s sales of new vehicles stood at 55 units last year.
