Bolt Restates Expansion Plans in Kenya
Bolt, the ride-hailing platform, has restated its plans to expand its services across the country in order to bring online taxis and food delivery services closer to Kenyans.
The Estonian company revealed yesterday that it is looking into unserved towns.
Bolt services are already available in major towns and cities around Kenya, including Nairobi and Mombasa, with significant room for growth in many metropolises.
”In 2024, we plan to invest 100 million Euros (16 billion shillings) in the market to further increase our footprint across the country by expanding our services into more cities and town centers,” said Bolt Kenya Country Manager Linda Ndungu during a sit-down with journalists.
As the transition to cleaner means of transportation accelerates, the company stated that it will begin rolling out its fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) in the near future.
As promised, fossil-fuel cars will be phased out gradually under this plan.
It intends to achieve the aforementioned objectives through local and international collaboration, creating thousands of employment and supporting local communities.
”We are also keen on forging partnerships with like-minded businesses to further push for the adoption of electric vehicles, starting with e-bikes,” she added.
