Tech Companies Like Google Shines Light in the Field of Medicines

Technological giants are seeming to get their niche in the health sector. Google, for example, is working on a project known as Project Nightingale, which involves 250 employees from Google and from the health giant Ascension in America. In their declaration towards this new project, they state they are working to come-up with new internal search tool for Ascension hospital network.

Apple on the other hand, has been hiring doctors for some time and working with Stanford University to develop macro-studies with approximately half million users using the heart rate data. Amazon is also eyeing this sector on the health market. Its seems this is a new frontier in the medicine field, where mass health data is combined with machine learning.

The major question that arises is on privacy on health data and whether or not if it will be used for good purpose in the future? Google is accessing health data records of millions of Americans; this indicates that the health data records is at a risk of exposure if by any chance the tech company decides to use it for commercial use like Facebook did.

Google accessing data is legal but has raised concern on privacy issue this is after an employee wrote an article in The Guardian. The employee stipulated that the lack of anonymity and concerns of the possible use of the data in the future. This prompted Google to deny any privacy violation.

These big-tech companies divulging their interest on the health market will provide a leap forward kin great innovations in this field of medicine. They have supercomputers that will execute the algorithm with aid of Artificial intelligence to provide wonderful solutions for patients. We have had the smart watch that displays the heart rate when carrying exercises in the recent past. In the future, we are looking to advanced technology gadgets.
