Tea maker company Finlays has refuted allegations that one of its senior managers who jetted into the country on March 19th, 2020 is not observing self-quarantine as required by the state.

Steve Scott, the General Manager of Finlays Kenya Limited, is accused of going against the directives issued by the health officials at the airport. Such an allegation is of great threat to the company as it comes up at the height of government directive lockdown.

The government directive is for Kenyan travelers from international countries more especially those from lockdown areas to undergo fourteen days of self-quarantine.

Anyone going against this directive will undergo forceful self-quarantine thereafter charged in a court of law.

Finlays Kenya Limited, tea maker company, Managing Director Simeon Hutchinson said,” Mr. Scott arrived from official duties in the United Kingdom 19 days ago and followed guidelines as issued by the government at that time.”

Finlays has called on the government to curb such rumors and apply the rule of law to individuals who spread fake rumors at the prime time Kenya is fighting Corona virus.

Such rumors can tear up a company even affect its reputation and bring panic to the citizens.

Corona virus has caused deaths around the world and the economy has had disruption with the stock markets having a hitch.
