How the Annual CEOs Breakfast Was Founded

About three years ago, Inversk Magazine founder, Kimani Patrick, decided to meet his young entrepreneur friends over breakfast to discuss how they could support each other and as well work to grow together.

That meeting was never to be. After announcing it on Facebook, 300+ enthusiasts expressed interest, giving birth to the Young CEOs Breakfast – converging 95 participants on February 7, 2018, at Laico Regency Hotel, Nairobi.

Owing to its success, Kimani decided to host the event again in 2019 and later in 2020, making it annual and changing its name to Annual CEOs Breakfast. The name change was due to the observation that not only young people attended the event, but investors and seasoned business leaders also attended.

Today, the event is not just a meet and greet but a discovery-filled event for anyone focused on building and sustaining a growing business (a platform where senior business leaders, top thought leaders, investors, SME owners, startup founders, and seasoned business experts converge to network and conduct business). It is estimated business deals worth over $100M (Ksh 10B) have been exchanged through the event.

Entering into its fourth on March 5, 2020, the forum seeks to converge over 250+ participants who will get an opportunity to engage with African investors, seasoned business leaders, and mentors on the topic: Responsible Enterprise Leadership as well as Effective Succession Planning.

At the event, top thought leaders and seasoned business experts will get a chance to share their amazing stories of success, growth strategies and innovation insights paying close attention to the theme topic in a panel discussion.
