The Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA) under the Trade ministry is set to sponsor more than 200 micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in the East African Community MSMEs trade fair.

The trade fair is set to happen in December 2022 in Mwanza, Tanzania, and the authority through a development program called One Constituency One Product will target specific products produced within the 139 refurbished Constituency Industrial Development Centers.

The Industrial Development Centers were built and equipped with tools for value-addition and MSEA will collaborate with counties to identify products in these centers that pass the set mark of quality.

MSEA chief executive, Henry Rithaa reveals that the program is aimed at improving the quality of the products and also to help facilitate easy access of MSEs to the market. The products are then sent to be marketed locally as well as internationally.

The EAC exhibition is set to support around 800 companies from the six partner states; Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda, in order to increase their market reach and develop new regional channels.
