Kenya’s flag carrier, Kenya Airways has launched an additional flight to Heathrow, London at only Ksh 88,775, after the East African country was removed from UK’s Covid -19 red list.

In a notice dated Wednesday 7th October 2021, the carrier notes that starting Monday, October 11, 2021, it will now be possible to fly to London and back every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

“Anyone who wants to travel from Nairobi to London Heathrow will pay Ksh 88,775 on a round trip. However, from Nairobi to London City (LCY), United Kingdom, a customer will pay Ksh113, 140. From Mombasa to London is Sh104, 370. Kisumu to London goes for Sh104, 080,” Kenya Airways noted.

Earlier, the UK moved Kenya alongside Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Oman, and Bangladesh to the amber list from the red list from 4 am on September 22, 2021.

The move will now see UK travelers from or transiting through Kenya being exempted from compulsory hotel quarantine. However, they may still be required to isolate for 10 days and take tests.

With the red list, travelers arriving in the UK from countries on the list are denied entry while returning Britons must submit to 10 days of mandatory quarantine in hotels.
