A Gift of Love With Optiven Foundation
St Maurus Special School in Mathare North celebrated Valentine’s Day by receiving a gift of love from the Optiven Foundation. Valentine’s Day, which is, however, observed globally on February 14, is a holiday in which people express their love for one another by exchanging gifts, cards, flowers, or candy.
This act of kindness reminds us of a Chinese proverb that says, “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap.” If you want to have a good time for a day, go fishing. Inherit a fortune if you want to be happy for a year. If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, help someone.” For centuries, the greatest thinkers have advocated the same idea: Happiness can be found by helping others.
