‘How to Make Toilet Paper’ Tops Google Search With 1,300% Spike amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Google has released a list of searches made by people across the globe this past week from the comfort of their homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Global technology giant Twitter account for Trends, which monitors what people are searching for on Google, said that the term “how to make toilet paper,” spiked over 1,300 percent in the past week.

As the virus continued to spread, everyday items such as paper towels, toilet paper and hand sanitizer quickly have become hot commodities.

Tissue shortage has been associated with panic buying as governments around the world continue to enforce lockdowns to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Apart from the search, people turned to “How much toilet paper,” website, a “simple calculator for how much toilet paper you need to survive the pandemic.”
