Kitui County has signed up for the MyCounty app in partnership with Safaricom in order to enhance its own-source revenue collections.

MyCounty app platform aims to digitise county services in order to improve efficiency.

Payment for county services, including parking and land rates, revenue management systems, a citizen reporting and participation tool, and solutions in agriculture, health, energy bills, and SME programs would be available through the platform.

It will also facilitate the use of the ‘Sema na Governor’ feature, which allows for direct communication with governors and the sharing of feedback to improve county services.

“As we digitize our services to grow accessibility and efficiency in delivery, the MyCounty App platform will empower our citizens to conveniently access our essential county services as we also grow our own source revenue through digitization and technology,” said Julius Malombe, Governor, Kitui County.

Kitui is the second county in the Eastern region to use the platform to digitise its services.

Nairobi, Makueni, Kitui, Busia, Samburu, Bomet, Narok, Kilifi, Uasin Gishu, Kajiado, and Elgeyo Marakwet are among the 11 counties that have already signed up for MyCounty Applications.

Safaricom seeks to expand the platform to all 47 counties in the country.

“MyCounty app platform will help Kitui county to utilize technology in making county services accessible and convenient for all and more so increase their service delivery at an affordable cost,” said Nicholas Mulila, Chief Corporate Security Officer, Safaricom PLC.
