Yesterday, Airtel Kenya launched its first 5G network, which, according to the telcom, is focused on seamless connectivity.

According to Airtel, 370 5G sites have already been set up across 180 wards and 16 counties across the country.

“Today marks a significant milestone as we proudly introduce our 5G network,” Airtel Kenya Chief Executive Officer Ashish Malhotra said.

“Airtel 5G will revolutionize various sectors such as smart cities, education, healthcare, agritech, transport systems, entertainment and more, shaping the future of Kenya, “ he added.

As stated by Airtel, its 5G network enables users to experience quick access to tasks like wireless home internet, live streaming, content uploads and downloads, and multiplayer online gaming.

The company has also launched unlimited 5G home broadband plans for SME customers.

Airtel has been rushing to introduce new initiatives as it aspires to establish itself as a leader in the technological revolution.

For coverage in 47 counties, the telco recently installed 3200 sites.

To ensure connectivity for its network across the country, it claims to be launching 650 more sites later this year.
