Prices at Tea Auction Increased Again to $2.41 per Kg

Tea prices rose once again in an auction held in Mombasa.

On October 24, 25, and 26, 2022, 13.1 million kilograms of tea were up for bid at the weekly Mombasa Tea Auction. When compared to the 12.4 million kilograms offered during the previous sale and the 10 million kilograms offered during a comparable time last year, the amount on offer increased.

9.2 million kilograms of the total amount of tea offered for sale were sold, up from 9.5 million kilograms during the previous sale and 8 million kilograms during the same time last year.

A kilogram of tea sold for an average price of $2.41 at the auction, which saw prices rise from $2.25 during the previous sale, which was held on October 17, 18, and 19, 2022, and from $2.23 during the same time period the year before.
