Kenya Airways on Friday 7th entered into an interline agreement with AirLink in a bid to widen the airlines’ reach to multiple destinations in Africa.

The deal will enable Kenya Airways customers flying to South Africa to connect with AirLink-operated flights to Windhoek, Gaborone, Durban, Maseru, Pemba, Maputo and Port Elizabeth.

On the flip side, the deal will also enable AirLink passengers to book through tickets to Nairobi, Kenya and enjoy connections to other KQ destinations within Africa. These include Entebbe, Dar es Salaam, Kigali, Kinshasa and Bujumbura.

KQ is a leading African Airline that flies to 41 destinations worldwide, 34 of these destinations being in Africa. KQ also operates cargo services to key locations including London, Amsterdam, Guangzhou, Sharjah, and Mumbai together with over 25 intra-Africa routes.

AirLink airline offers its customers a wider choice of flight services and it serves with a fleet of more than 50 jetliners. It provides services between smaller and undeserved towns.

The carrier ended its ties with South African Airways in late 2020. During the same year, the airline transported over 2 million passengers on more than 63,000 flights.

In January 2021, AirLink became the second-largest carrier within Africa by several flights and became the third-largest by the number of seats.

The agreement between the two airlines will look to improve Kenya’s and South Africa’s relationship.
