Credit Bank Appoints New CEO
Kenya’s Credit Bank has appointed Betty Korir to be its new chief Executive. Ms. Korir takes over from Chege Thumbi who left the company in July for Sidian Bank.
In her new role, Ms. Korir will be expected to leverage her 20-year experience in the banking sector to sustain the growth of Credit Bank, Business Daily reported.
Mrs. Korir, who holds a Bachelor of Ed. Degree, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) LLB and a Master’s Degree in Finance /Marketing from Nairobi University, joined the lender in June, 2013 and has 20 years Banking Experience spanning across several Banks.
On the professional front she is a member of Global Association of Finance and Management (GAFM), Chartered Credit Analyst (CCA) and an associate of Kenya Institute of Bankers being a finalist in Banking Professional Qualification (AKIB) in addition to holding various Risk Management Certifications.
The privately-owned, SME-focused financial institution has over 30 years’ experience in business with a network of 17 branches. In the year to December 2016, the bank reported a profit after tax of Sh109.6 million up from a loss of Sh59.3 million in 2015.
