Certified Homes Valentine Gift to a Widow

Money doesn’t buy love but it improves your bargaining position. The Managing Director of Certified Homes, Peter Nyaga, has indeed secured the heart of Irene Karanja. He gifted the widow a sewing machine, materials for curtains, mosquito nets, and loose covers to restart her business.

Irene was left hopeless after the death of her ill husband which drowned her into debts. As a result, she was unable to feed her two children and pay for their school fees.

Mr. Nyaga heard about Irene’s predicament from Dianah Kamande Hsc, the Director of CTWOO, and the both of them went to visit her in Ruai.

Certified Homes decided to teach Irene how to fish rather than making her a slave for handouts. Mr. Nyaga believes that it’s a sustainable way for Irene to get economic empowerment from it.

The Managing Director also promised to support Irene’s son, Anthony, by making his dream of becoming a DJ come true. DJ Kush who was also present during the visit paid half of Anthony’s fees.

Gospel artist Karangu Muraya used his online platform to raise money to buy Irene a smartphone to help her market her products on Facebook.

Irene’s previous business was shut down when auctioneers took away her sewing machines and materials to repay debts.
