Britam has signed a drug distribution agreement with four pharmacies, enabling policyholders easy access to medications.

Haltons Pharmacy, GoodLife Pharmacy, Malibu Pharmacy, and MYDAWA Online Pharmacy all signed the deal.

Under the deal, medical insurance holders will have access to healthcare services at the aforementioned facilities for minor and uncomplicated conditions, eliminating the need to attend a hospital.

“By leveraging the expertise of accredited pharmacies, we are making healthcare more accessible and convenient for our valued customers as well as helping them conserve their outpatient benefits for more complicated ailments that require hospital visits,” said Jackson Theuri, CEO and Principal Officer of Britam General Insurance.

“We want to ensure that the first step in their healthcare journey is a seamless one,” Theuri added.

The program enables for quick and convenient medication refills at partner pharmacies for clients with chronic medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.

Clients with more complex health conditions will be directed to a Britam-accredited hospital for specialized care.

Acute peptic ulcer illness, malaria, acute sinusitis, rhinitis & rhinopharyngitis, and acute otitis externa are among the prevalent diagnoses covered by the program.

Acute otitis media and acute diarrhea are two others. Aside from these diagnoses, the program also covers musculoskeletal discomfort, bruises, and small lacerations, among other things.
