Microsoft Cloud Technologies to offer Social Startups Free Access

Microsoft has announced access to free cloud technologies along with technical support and guidance for startups keen on solving social and environmental challenges.

Microsoft Azure is a set of cloud services with aim of solving business challenges. For startups which are solving social and environmental challenges, they are offered goodies that includes free access to Azure cloud services and amount of sh12.1 million ($ 120000 USD) worth of Azure technologies.

Microsoft 4Afrika Director Amrote Adbella during the launch of Global Social Entrepreneurship programme said, “Solving global social and environmental challenges requires synergy of the right technology partners, conducive environmental and technology.”

Global Social Entrepreneurship programme seeks to assist social enterprise grow and scale up their startup to big companies with the realization of United Nations 2030 Sustainable development Goals as they do good globally.

The selection is based on a startup having established product or services that solves a social and environmental challenge and showcasing its commitment to the ethical and responsible use of Artificial intelligence. Selected startups qualify for a grant.

Startups all around the world are creating businesses built on the major technology’s advancement like block chain, AI and IOT. The innovators and entrepreneurs are no longer measure success on the profit made but by the good they do on the social and environmental.
