English Premiere League is braced for a total shutdown until September amidst fear of coronavirus widespread that will lead clubs to go out of business due to low numbers.

On Thursday the leading English bodies received a call from COBRA meeting where full admission of numbers in the stadiums was misread. The matches are postponed until April 4, from England’s Premiere League, Women’s Championship and Women’s Super League.

Although the resumption is scheduled for April 4th after the international break there are tiny chances of that happening. These such actions have led to UEFA scheduling a meeting this coming Tuesday, March 17, 2020, with 55 member associations, the Association and the European Leagues and representative of FIFPro.

The agenda is to come up and work out a strategy for moving forward. This is following a government directive in response to the crisis, Whitehall officials then contacted the football authorities. There were concerns that the approach was a mistake from Scotland.

Mike Arleta’s positive test for covid-19 shook off the balance towards Friday’s decision to suspend the matches.

Premiere League wanted to continue with their matches behind closed doors but the incident of Mike Arleta’s positive test and the number of players being tested proved this activity as incompetent. The virus is going to cause economic havoc on the clubs and the football leagues.
