Jambojet Enters Chartered Flights Business to Boost Revenue

Jambojet has announced its entry into charter operations to boost revenue streams by Kshs 45 million and also address emerging consumer needs in this amid of Covid 19.

The airline plans to allocate a non-scheduled flight in its target to up to 5 flights as it targets clients who need privacy.

The charter flight is also targeting groups that are traveling to attend social events or humanitarian organizations with operations outside towns.

The Jambojet expanded its local destinations after getting approval from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority. The company also plans to start direct flights from Mombasa to Kisumu and Eldoret effective from October 2, 2020.

The Company’s Acting MD, Karanja Ndegwa, said that due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the carrier have seen a shift in consumer needs.

“Consumers now, more than ever, want privacy, convenience and their safety and well-being assured. As an airline, we pride ourselves in being customer-centric, thus the introduction of this non-scheduled service,” he added.

Mr. Karanja later said that monthly revenue is about Kshs. 300 million and the company is looking at least one craft available which is about 15% of its revenues.

The company will later allocate one nonscheduled flight targeting five charters on a weekly.
