Mpesa For Business: How to get Mpesa Business Till

The M-PESA Business till is an improvement to the current Lipa na Mpesa Buy Goods enabling business owners to collect payments on the till and use the money collected to make other transactions directly from their till.

This product provides a one stop account for collecting and making payments directly from the till enabling you to separate your personal M-PESA payments from business payments. The following are the services available under this product.

  • Mpesa business till can be accessed via USSD *234*2# or via app M-PESA for Business App, once you complete the application for the Business till via https://m-pesaforbusiness.co.ke
  • Application will be processed within 24 hours and you will receive the till details via SMS from Safaricom on the line that made the application.
  • You will then need to Activate the till using the Nominated number
  • You can activate via USSD by dialing *234# and Select Option 2: M-PESA Business Till then enter the store number of the till received from SMS after Application.

  • Sign into the app using your Store details either store number or till number. The app enables you have better visibility of their payment collections and spend, see full statements and transact directly from the app. You can manage several tills your own from

How to activate

  1. Dial *234# from the nominated number
  2. Select option 2 – M-PESA Business Till
  3. Enter Store number (One received on SMS)
  4. Select option 1 – Yes
  5. Accept Terms and Conditions.
  6. Submit

You will receive an M-PESA message with your operator ID and Start key PIN. You will be required to change PIN. To do so, use the operator ID and start and follow the steps below:

  1. Dial *234# from the nominated number
  2. Select option 2 – M-PESA Business Till
  3. Enter your Store number
  4. Select option 5 – Account Services
  5. Select option 1 – Change PIN
  6. Enter operator ID (Check the SMS received from M-PESA SMS with start key)
  7. Enter old PIN (which is the start key on SMS from M-PESA)
  8. Enter New PIN (Create your own secret PIN)
  9. Confirm new PIN (Repeat your own secret PIN)
  10. Submit

You will receive a message confirming that your PIN has been changed and till successfully activated.
