Mobility That Brings a Smile Tranforms a Mans Life

Optiven Foundation a charity organization affiliated to Optiven Real Estate in an initiative to giveback to the community. The ‘Mobility That Brings A Smile’ initiative is a campaign that aims at putting smiles on faces with people living with disabilities. This episode features John, a resident of Makuyu, Murang’a county.

On the 26th of May 2022 Optiven Foundation delivered a gift to one of our beneficiaries, Mr. John. The gift came in form of a special wheelchair.

Mzee John suffered paralysis in the age of 15 years and could not afford treatment as it was quite expensive. He has since been unable to walk, and had to be carried around on a wheelbarrow.

It became impossible for him to work and the responsibility of catering for his family’s needs was left to his wife, which has been quite a heavy burden. John has 2 children which are of age to attend school but they couldn’t have been able to do so, since they barely survive. The wheelchair will not only allow Mr. John move around comfortably but also help him conduct his small business, which will economically uplift him.

The wheel chair can be used during all weather, since the community do not have good roads. It also has a well storage space that can be used to carry goods. The wheelchair also is made to accommodate in different areas.

Thanks to Optiven Foundation, John has now regained his mobility through #MobilityThatBringsASmile.  Partner with Optiven Foundation to support this noble cause.
