Bama Diaspora on Wednesday visited Ann Kagwe’s Centre for Women and Children in Githurai for interaction and donated a sewing machine to the women.

The foundation which is located off the Mwihoko-Githurai Road helps women with sewing skills and the machine will go a long way in helping the women to start making money on their own. The organization has a teacher who helps the woman here with the right sewing skills.

The foundation also has a children’s program where they feed children with porridge on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Githurai Primary School. This concern lies in the fact that most children living in the cities are malnutritioned.

Bama Diasporas takes pride in working with such institutions “because they’re helping solve the community problem from the root cause,” said Anne Mwai, Bama Diaspora CEO. “By doing so, we feel that we are taking part in empowering the whole world,” she added.

Ann Kagwe’s Centre takes pride in taking care of women in maternal health and children by helping them nutrition-wise. By doing this, Bama Diasporas is participating in community empowerment by helping women gain the skills they need to be self-employed.
