In anticipation of protests, Kenya Airways (KQ) closed its booking offices in Kisumu and Johannesburg yesterday.

This follows the simultaneous demonstrations that Azimio and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) announced on Monday (today).

KQ said that on March 20, 2023, booking services would not be available. It was scheduled to be opened tomorrow, though.

“All our other offices within our network including the Airport offices in Johannesburg and Kisumu will be operational, “said KQ.

In advance of planned protests, Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga declared Monday, March 20, a public holiday.

Odinga urged his supporters to come onto the streets after his calls for a reduction in the cost of living, among other issues.

Similar to this, the EFF called for protests in Johannesburg, South Africa, to demand President Cyril Ramaphosa’s resignation.

“Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the offices, the safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers are of the highest priority,” KQ stated.
