Instagram at Rage with photo-shopped Images

Social Media heavyweight Instagram has declared a war against photo-shopped images posted on their platform in an effort to combat fake news on the social media platform in recently rolled out feature that flags fake photos.

According to Instagram, the system uses a combination of feedback from the community and technology to identify which photo pass onto fact checkers, an independent third party.

Once a photo is found to be heavily photo-shopped it will be hidden and viewers will have to click through several warnings before they can access the actual photograph.

Photos deemed to be factually inaccurate will be completely wipes out from the explore tab.

Earlier the Facebook owned platform, announced in a statement the removal of the IGTV button from the site arguing that users hardly noticed it.

“As we have continued to work on making it easier for people to create and discover IGTV content,we have learned that most people are finding IGTV content through previews in feed,the IGTV channel in Explore creator’s profiles and the stand alone app,”a spokesperson said.
