Samsung Electronics has welcomed Mr. Tae Sun Lee as the new Managing Director for East Africa. He will be replacing Mr. Seok Min Hong who has been leading the East Africa Region since 2017.

Mr. Tae was previously the Strategic Director Integrated Mobility Division at Samsung Electronics South Africa. In 2003, Mr. Tae joined Samsung Electronics where he supported mobile operations for key middle East markets for five years.

He has grown the Samsung market share in South Africa, and this has seen the Samsung brand become the most preferred smartphone in South Africa.

“I am very excited to have joined Samsung Electronics East Africa. I believe that this market has a great deal of potential for our Samsung products. I look forward to serving our customers and working together with the East African Team,” said Mr. Tae.

He will be responsible for 14 markets that make up Samsung Electronics East Africa. These include Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan, Djibouti, Somali Land, Ethiopia, Seychelles, DRC, and Republic of Congo.
