Vision 2030 Delivery Board Set to Review Projects Plan

The Vision 2030 Delivery Board is reviewing the progress of the ongoing projects ahead of the release of the medium development plan four to enable the national and county governments to integrate ongoing projects.

This comes as the board moves in to align its projects with the Medium Term Plan in a bid to integrate the manifesto of President William Ruto’s government.

The board is planning to launch the Kenya Vision 2030 Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTP) 2023-2027 that will guide the development agenda for the country in promoting social and economic growth.

In 2021, the National Assembly Budget Committee disclosed that projects, including roads, office blocks, dams and irrigation, worth Sh9 trillion started during the Kibaki and Uhuru administrations stalled due to poor project planning and lack of adherence to guidelines that require secure funding.

Speaking after chairing the first board meeting of Vision 2030 Secretariat the newly appointed chairperson Carole Kariuki said the government is setting the foundation for private sectors to come in and invest towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals goals. 

“The board is aligning with the government’s move to grow the economy, I will be bringing the experience acquired in the private sector,” she said.

The Vision 2030 is the long-term development blueprint  which seeks to guide the transformation of Kenya into a middle-income country. It seeks to create a globally competitive nation with a high quality of life by 2030.
