The Kenya Magical Ladies Open begins on Thursday in Kilifi, with KCB Bank Kenya providing a KShs. 5 million sponsorship boost.

The event will take place at the Vipingo Ridge, Baobab Course, Africa’s only (UK) PGA accredited golf course, and is the only women’s professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour in East Africa.

“The funding is part of the Bank’s objective of advocating diversity in sports while also contributing to the growth of golf in Kenya and beyond,” said Rosalind Gichuru, KCB Group Director Marketing, Corporate Affairs, and Citizenship.

“At the core of our sponsorship is a desire to go beyond standard sponsorship aspects to help female golfers advance their careers.” “We are optimistic that our golfers will gain the experience and skills necessary to compete locally and internationally,” she added.

Over the years, the 72-hole stroke play competition has proven a significant milestone in the sport’s history in Kenya. The three-day tournament has attracted top lady golfers from across the World.

KCB has over the years been at the forefront of sponsoring golf over the years. Last week, the Bank extended Ksh. 4 million towards the 2022 Safari Tour through the Kenya Open Golf Limited (KOGL).
