iPhone Users to Wait up to December to Access Safaricom’s 5G Network
Through their CEO, Safaricom informed iPhone users that they would have to wait until December to use the 5G network.
The CEO has argued that they will have to wait for their makers to update the software to accommodate the network.
“For iPhone users, and select 5G capable Samsung devices will have to wait for a software upgrade later in the year to access the 5G network. This is not a Safaricom issue,” Ndegwa said during the unveiling of the 5G network in Nairobi.
iPhone has gained popularity in Kenya because of its status and exclusivity. A lot of middle-class individuals have acquired this device over the years.
5G will be faster than 4G, characterized by its speed in downloading and streaming videos online, including video games. It will be only applicable to devices supporting 5G networks.
Safaricom has launched this network in five counties to increase its internet speed. Counties such as Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisii, Kakamega, and Kisumu will enjoy a speedy network.
The introductory 5G Wi-Fi plans include 10Mbps with a usage limit of 300GB at Sh3,499, 40Mbps with a usage limit of 500GB at Sh5,999, and 100Mbps with a usage limit of 1TB at Sh14,999.
