Fusion Capital Limited increased its philanthropic contribution to Optiven Foundation through the Soaring Eagles Scholarship Program, worth One Million Kenya Shillings.

Optiven Foundation has been changing lives one student at a time. “We at Fusion believe in being responsible members of the communities in which we invest and that is the reason we are here today. To play our role as members of the community in educating the child,” said Daniel Kamau, CEO Fusion Capital Limited.

Appreciating the support, George Wachiuri, Chairman of the Optiven Group Foundation said: “Beneficiaries who are bright but needy and come from a background that is incapable of providing their secondary school education are considered. Here we do not discriminate the beneficiaries based on where they come from but are advised by the performance, need and attitude of the student towards achieving education”.

The Optiven Foundation is a private philanthropic organization based in Kenya that promotes better world concepts and supports institutions. Donations and volunteer work are the foundation’s primary sources of income.

Optiven Foundation has funded efforts to develop education for underserved students, conserve the environment, improve the lives and livelihoods of senior persons, provide food in underserved areas, and promote health during the previous six years.

Wachiuri, who is also a Trustee at the Optiven Group Foundation advises that the education pillar has received a lot of attention from key stakeholders and the needs for support can however not be matched as they are massive. He says, “We are continuously receiving requests to support students to access their secondary education across the board but are limited in terms of resources. This is why we remain grateful to the different stakeholders that have been deliberate to partner with us in order to make a transformational difference in our society.”
